If we can't go to Brazil for the carneval, let's just bring Brazil here! And all of Latin America! Come and join the carneval celebration of LAG Tromsø :D
And why do we celebrate carneval? It's a tradition linked to the catholic society, and there are different theories on why they celebrate. It's either the commencement of the lent period (40 days of fasting, self-denial and denying life pleasures) the commencement of not enjoying other pleasures...such as sexual ones!!!BUT! we don't have to get into that...we'll just celebrate :)
Carne = meat
Vale = Farewell!
So you can choose your own interpretation ;)
There will be:
* Music - Boreal Trova Ensemble
* DJ
*Samba rythms & Capoeira
* Introduction of the Brigade Project in El Salvador and the work of the Norwegian Solidarity Committe with Latin America!
*and alsoooo...good drinks, obviously!!
